SUMMARY:Basic Rifle - Two Day (Gibsonburg\, OH)
DESCRIPTION:Basic Rifle Overview\nPrerequisites: None \nEstimated Ammunition Required: About 250 rounds rifle ammunition. \nRifle Requirements: You will need a safe rifle chambered in your preferred caliber. Magazine-fed semi-automatic rifles generally work best for our classes\, but any other type of rifle (tube-fed semi-automatic\, lever-action\, bolt-action\, etc.) can be used as well. Bring whatever rifle you have and we will work with you. \nRequired Equipment: Please review our suggestions for appropriate Basic Rifle equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\ncase for your rifle (per Erie County Conservation League range rules)\nat least two magazines for your rifle\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nclothing appropriate for the weather (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\n\nIt is helpful that all ammunition be of the same type (i.e. same weight\, manufacturer\, etc) for this event. Shooting will primarily be at 25 yards. At some facilities\, it may be possible to move out to longer distances\, but a rimfire rifle should be just fine for all activities. \nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\nsling for your rifle (a US GI sling is preferred; loaner slings are typically available at the event)\nstapler (and extra staples) to attach your target to the backer board\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nshooting mat\, carpet remnant or similar\nfolding chair\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nLoaner Firearms: loaner firearms suitable for use at this event are generally available but limited. Please contact the Event Director prior to the event if you would like to request a loaner firearm. \nOverview: This event will follow the outline of Basic Rifle\, our signature offering based on traditional American rifle craft that teaches “Hits Count!” This event is appropriate for a wide breadth of student skill levels and lays a sound foundation for students to shoot groups under time pressure from a variety of practical field positions. Instruction will include classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn: \n\nRules for safe gun handling & range rules\nRifle parts and operation & ammunition\nShooting fundamentals: Five steps to firing each shot\nNatural Point of Aim\nShooting from the prone\, standing and sitting/kneeling positions to include use of the sling\nIntroduction to Sight Adjustments and basic calculation of minutes of angle\n25 Yard “Morgan’s 13” Classifier\n25 Yard Rifle Qualifier\n\nThe Midnight Ride of Paul Revere\nHear the true story of Paul Revere’s famous ride and learn about the events that immediately precipitated the Revolutionary War. Paul Revere did not ride alone – many individuals played crucial roles in the events of April 19th\, 1775. \nThis history presentation begins with alarm riders warning “the Regulars are out!” You’ll hear about the dramatic stand on Lexington Green and the “shots heard ’round the world” at Concord’s North Bridge. The tale concludes with harrowing life-or-death choices made along the 17 mile “battle road.” \nThis exciting tale will be woven throughout the day’s marksmanship events.

SUMMARY:Intermediate Rifle (KD) – Two Day (Midvale\, OH)
DESCRIPTION:Intermediate Rifle (KD) Overview\nThis is a 2-day\, Intermediate Rifle (AKA: Known Distance or “KD”) event. The event is designed to give attendees the opportunity to stretch their skills to actual distances out to 400 yards. The “course of fire/instruction” is designed for centerfire rifles with slings.  Attendees will shoot from the standard field positions of prone\, seated/kneeling\, and standing. \nPrerequisites: Suggested — Revere’s Basic Rifle event or previous experience with CMP\, High Power or NRA rifle events. \nIf you cannot consistently hit a 5″ circle at 100 yards from the prone position\, or if you are unfamiliar with the standing/seated/prone positions and sling usage\, you will be frustrated at this event. Material from Basic Rifle will be only briefly reviewed.  \nEstimated Ammunition Required: Bring 150 to 200 rounds/day. It is important that all ammunition be of the same type (i.e. same weight\, manufacturer\, etc) for this event. \nRifle Requirements: You will need a safe rifle chambered in a centerfire caliber of your preference (we will be shooting at distances beyond the effective range of most rimfire calibers). \nPlease make an effort to get a known zero prior to attending (25 yds or 200 yds preferred\, but any known zero will work).  At the very least\, bore sight your AR-platform or bolt rifle at a mark 25 yards away.  If you are not zeroed\, we will make an attempt to get you there quickly but a good zero will facilitate your learning. \nRequired Equipment: Please review our suggestions for appropriate KD equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\ncenterfire rifle of your choice\nsling for your rifle (the US GI sling will work perfectly for this event\, but if you bring another style\, it should be easily adjustable)\nat least two magazines for your rifle\, extras will make things easier\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\,\n\nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\ncase for your rifle\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nshooting mat\nhigh powered binoculars or a spotting scope\nfolding chair\nlunch for both days (Note: range provides lunch for a donation on Sat)\nsnacks and energy bars\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nOverview: Intermediate Rifle picks up where our Basic Rifle clinic leaves off. Students\, having mastered the fundamentals of marksmanship at our Basic Rifle\, learn to apply their skills out to 400 yards\, the Marksman’s quarter-mile. Most importantly\, attendees will learn about your rifle\, your ammo\, and your skill level at real distances. \nIntermediate Rifle is focused on practical shooting under field conditions against targets at a variety of ranges. Students will learn: \n\nField shooting to known distances out to 400 yds to include target detection\, target identification and basic ballistics calculations\nCalculations of minutes of angle (MOA) changes needed for precise sight adjustments at all ranges and application to field shooting problems\nConsiderations for wind adjustments and up-hill/down-hill shooting\nData collection for shooting to known distances with your equipment\nField-expedient ranging of targets at unknown distances\nStudents will be able to challenge the Long Range Qualification Test and other Field Shooting challenges at actual distances; individual events may vary by venue and available distances.\n\nOn Sunday afternoon\, we will move targets out to 600 yds to give folks the opportunity to really “reach out and test” their skills. \nThe Spirit of 1776\nPicking up where “The Midnight Ride” concludes\, the Spirit of 1776 contains stories from the first full year of the American war for independence. From the high point of the Evacuation of Boston to the lows of early winter of 1776\, follow the Continental Army as they are forced to flee across New York and New Jersey. Learn about the nearly insurmountable challenges they faced and the hope\, faith and daring that pulled victory out of certain defeat. \nIf you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to face down a huge amphibious armada invading New York City\, shiver around a campfire reading about “summer soldiers and sunshine patriots\,” or gamble it all on a desperate crossing of the Delaware River for “Liberty or Death” then you need to hear the Spirit of 1776. \nThses exciting tales will be woven throughout the day’s marksmanship events. \nAdditional Event Information\nThere is a $10/person range fee that is payable at the start of the event. \nAdditional Range Information\nFree camping will be available at the range on Friday and Saturday night. Participants will have access to the club house for restrooms and limited kitchen support for dinner on Saturday night.

This course lays a sound foundation for students to shoot groups under time pressure from a practical stance. Basic Pistol includes classroom and range time learning to safely and effectively shoot handguns. Students will learn: \n\nRules for safe gun handling & range rules\nPistol parts and operation & ammunition\nShooting fundamentals: Five steps to firing each shot\nTwo Handed Grip & Stance: Isoceles\, benchrest\, and low ready positions (Weaver may also be taught)\nNatural Point of Aim\nShot Group Analysis\nClearing Common Stoppages\nWhittemore’s Stand Pistol Qualifier\nClassic WW2 Pistol Qualification Test (optional)\n\nPrerequisites: None – but some prior experience shooting handguns is recommended \nEstimated Ammunition Required: About 200 rounds of pistol ammunition. \nPistol Requirements: You will need a safe pistol with at least five round capacity to fully participate in this course. Pistols should be of a modern\, drop safe design. \nOlder single action pistols manufactured before the 1980s and lacking a transfer bar safety are the most common type of pistol that lack drop safe design features\, as do some military surplus imports from Eastern bloc countries and Taurus PT-series pistols not fixed during an international safety recall in 2015. These pistols may discharge if dropped and pose a potential safety hazard to our volunteers and students\, and are not permitted. If you have concerns about the safety features of your pistol you should have it inspected by an armorer or gunsmith before class. \nRequired Equipment: Please review our suggestions for appropriate Basic Pistol equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\nat least two magazines for your pistol\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nclothing appropriate for the weather (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\n\nWe will not be drawing from the holster in this class and we will run a “cold range.” You will not need a holster to participate in the class activities. \nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\ncase for your pistol\nstapler (and extra staples) to attach your target to the backer board\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nLoaner Firearms: loaner firearms suitable for use at this event are generally available but limited. Please contact the Event Director prior to the event if you would like to request a loaner firearm. \nAge Limitations: Attendees between ages 14-18 years must be accompanied by a parent for the entire event.  If under age of 14\, contact the Event Director to review their participation. \nThe Pistol in American History\n \nDuring our breaks\, we will share some stories of the pistol in American history.  These will include the role of the pistol in the story of April 19\, 1775\, the birth and development of the revolver\, stories of Sam Colt and the Texas rangers and John Browning’s development of the iconic 1911 automatic pistol. \nThese exciting tales will be woven throughout the day’s marksmanship activities. \nAdditional Event Information\nSpectators are welcome but will be asked to remain a safe distance from the firing line (ear protection is required for all spectators; eye protection is optional). \nYour ticket price includes range fees and lunch. \nEvent Sponsors\nWe would like to thank the following event sponsors for their generosity in helping to make this event possible. \n\n\n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Timber Creek Outdoors\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Caldwell\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Wilson Combat\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Streamlight\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Glock\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Holosun\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Mantis\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Timney Triggers\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Voodoo Tactical\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n CRKT\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Swampfox Optics\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n KelTec\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Meprolight\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Vortex Optics\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Eva-Dry\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Crimson Trace\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Crossbreed Holsters\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Tipton\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Ruger\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n OLFA Works\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Wheeler Tools\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Mossberg\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Gun Storage Solutions\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Tasmanian Tiger\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n XS Sights\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n ProMag/Archangel

We will be on the 600 yard range\, setting our firing line up at the 300 yard line. Be prepared to stage your gear about 350yds away from the parking lot. \nShooters will engage multiple steel targets with their centerfire rifle with distances ranging from 50-300 yards. From there\, you will safe and ground your rifle and move over to your awaiting shotgun and engage a single silhouette target about 50 yards away with a slug. Then you will engage small reactive steel 5-15 yards away with birdshot. Once complete\, you will safe and ground your shotgun and move on to the pistol portion of the course. At the pistol stage you will engage cardboard silhouette targets from around a barricade using one hand only. Each cardboard target will be engaged twice (with only “hits” counting in the marked portion of the target). Be prepared to shoot both right and left-handed at ranges of 3-10 yards. You will then move on to a pair of Texas star steel reactive targets and a single silhouette with a gong flapper (only a hit on the flapper portion counts). \nYour round count for a perfect round will be: \n\n10 rounds rifle\n1 slug\n8 birdshot\n31 pistol\n\nSaturday will start with a safety briefing for the weekend.  Then we will provide an introduction to 3-gun events. This will include a review of the history of 3-gun\, overview of participation classes available and the related rules\, and how a typical event is organized. That will be followed with instructions on the firearms handling procedures you will need/use on the range and introductory tips on how to navigate the various stages.  Then we will move to the firing line and walk through the stages without firearms. Then we will shoot a live fire practice without time pressure.  Sunday will entail shooting the course for time as an actual event. You can expect to get multiple attempts at the course for time on Sunday. \nSpots are limited to 10 shooters to accommodate multiple runs for each shooter. There will be a range fee of $10 for the event. Please bring cash on Saturday for this fee.  We will start with registration/safety brief/walkthrough at 9:00am both days. A lunch will be available for donation both days. We will go until 3:30pm and then clean up. Help with clean-up will be greatly appreciated. All targets need returned to storage and all brass\, hulls\, and wads cleaned up from the range. \nThe Midnight Ride of Paul Revere\nDuring our breaks\, you will hear the true story of Paul Revere’s famous ride and learn about the events that immediately precipitated the Revolutionary War. The tale concludes with harrowing life-or-death choices made along the 18 mile “battle road” as the British retreated back to Boston. \nThis exciting tale will be woven throughout both days of the event. \nAdditional Event Information\nThis is a two day event.  The club allows shooters to either tent camp onsite or bunk in the clubhouse for the weekend. Your event director and several of the instructors will be onsite for the entire weekend so you will have company if you choose to camp with us. If you do choose camp\, you will have access to the restrooms and the kitchen in the main clubhouse for the weekend. \nReminder; there will be a $10/person range fee for non-Tusco members for the weekend. Please bring cash with you to cover this fee.

Material from Basic Rifle will be only briefly reviewed.  \nEstimated Ammunition Required: Bring 150 to 200 rounds/day. It is important that all ammunition be of the same type (i.e. same bullet weight\, manufacturer\, etc) for this event. At the very least\, bore sight your AR-platform or bolt action rifle by pulling the bolt and aligning the sighting system with the bore at a mark 25 yards away.  If you are not zeroed\, we will make an attempt to get you there but starting with a known zero will facilitate your learning. \nRequired Equipment: Please review our suggestions for appropriate Intermediate Rifle equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\nsling for your rifle (while a US GI sling will work perfectly well for this event\, many prefer a more easily adjustable sling)\nat least two magazines for your rifle\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\n\nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\ncase for your rifle\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nshooting mat\nhigh powered binoculars or spotting scope\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nOverview: Intermediate Rifle picks up where the Basic Rifle clinic leaves off. Students\, having mastered the fundamentals of marksmanship\, will learn to apply their new skills out to the rifleman’s quarter-mile. Most importantly\, students will learn about their rifle\, their ammo — and themselves. \nIntermediate Rifle is focused on practical shooting under field conditions against targets at a variety of ranges\, with a focus on the “Rifleman’s quarter-mile:” 100-400 yards. Students will learn: \n\nShooting to known distances from multiple field positions. Additionsl skills covered will include target detection\, target identification\, adjusting for wind\, and basic ballistics calculations\nCalculation of minutes of angle for precise sight adjustments at all ranges and application to field shooting problems\nData collection for shooting to known distances\nField-expedient ranging of targets at unknown distances\nStudents will be able to challenge the Qualification Test at actual distances; exact events may vary by venue and class.\n\nThe Spirit of 1776\nPicking up where “The Midnight Ride” concludes\, the Spirit of 1776 traces the first full year of the American war for independence. \nThis exciting tale will be woven throughout the day’s marksmanship events. \nAdditional Event Information\nThere is a $10/person range fee that is payable on the day of the event. \nAdditional Range Information\nFree camping will be available at the range on Friday night for early arrivers. Participants will have access to the club house for restrooms and limited kitchen support for dinner on Friday night.

Your information will not be used in any manner other than to allow your admittance to the installation and to contact you regarding this event. Pre-registration is required so that we can forward your information to CAJMTC in time for the event. You are also responsible for reading the below additional range information specific to Camp Atterbury. Please keep in mind that we are using a military facility and military rules and discipline are in force. \nRefund Policy\nEvent will be held RAIN or SHINE!\nCamp Atterbury is an active military installation\, as such we may have our scheduled access removed as late as the day before the event. Refunds will only be issued for this event due to cancellation of the event by military authorities. Absolutely no refunds will be given for any other reason. \nAdditional Range Information\nArrival Time \nYou MUST Arrive On Time\nPlan to arrive NO LATER than 7:45AM. Anyone arriving later than this will not be allowed to participate in the event and your event fees will not be refunded. This is due to the need to meet at Range Control and proceed to the range as a group. We will not wait for you; plan to be early. \nBase Firearms Policy \nCAJMTC firearms policy—NO LOADED FIREARMS PERMITTED ON BASE. Concealed carry is NOT ALLOWED on base; you may only load a firearm while on a designated range. Before you proceed to to the base entrance and attempt to pass through security\, make sure that all firearms in your vehicle and on your person (don’t forget your concealed carry sidearm) are unloaded\, in a secure case and separated from your ammunition. If you are refused entry to the base for any reason\, your event fees will not be refunded. \nDirections to Range Control \nYou will be required to pass through the Camp Atterbury main gate to access the military side of the base. There are numerous ranges at Camp Atterbury and any number of them can be “hot” at any given time. There are ranges for pistols\, rifles\, artillery as well as strafing (witnessing an A-10 Warthog engaging in a strafing run is awe inspiring from a distance); some of the ranges involve firing over roadways (if the range is “hot”\, these should be blockaded\, but better safe than sorry). Wandering onto any of these ranges while they are “hot” could lead to a VERY bad day. Range Control is reached by continuing south on the entrance road (Eggleston Street). Range Control will be on your left just before County Road 900 South. Himsel Airfield will be on your right just beyond the intersection of Eggleston Street and CR 900 S. \nOvernight Accommodations\nCivilian lodging is available on base for those who wish to stay overnight. Standard rooms with shared bathroom are $43/night and Deluxe rooms with private bath are $58/night. For reservations\, call the Camp Atterbury Lodging Office at 812-526-1128. Let them know that you are with Revere’s Riders. \nEvent Sponsors\n\n\n \n  \n\n3M Peltor has graciously provided Revere’s Riders with Peltor LiteCom Plus communications headsets for use at this event. These headsets incorporate radios allowing wearers to communicate with each other via their headsets. Extremely convenient for ranges where the target line is manned like Camp Atterbury. \n\n\n\n\n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Timney Triggers\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Meprolight\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Timber Creek Outdoors\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Kahr Arms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n 101 Tech USA\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Kestrel Meters\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n UM Tactical\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n XS Sights\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n HIVIZ Shooting Systems\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Briley\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Galco Holsters\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Criterion Barrels\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Vortex Optics\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Palmetto State Armory\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Glock\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n 3M/Peltor\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Daniel Defense\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Samson Manufacturing\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Schmid Inside\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Premier Arms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Eva-Dry\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Magnetospeed\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Voodoo Tactical\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Crossbreed Holsters

Students will learn: \n\nField Shooting to known distances to include target detection\, target identification and basic ballistics calculation\nIntermediate calculation of minutes of angle for precise sight adjustments at all ranges and application to field shooting problems\nData collection for shooting to known distances\nField-expedient ranging of targets at unknown distances\nStudents will be able to challenge the Qualification Test\, Battle Rattle\, and/or Field Shoot at actual distance; exact events may vary by venue and class.\n\nThe Spirit of 1776\nPicking up where “The Midnight Ride” concludes\, the Spirit of 1776 traces the first full year of the American war for independence. \nThis exciting tale will be woven throughout the day’s marksmanship events. \nAdditional Event Information\nThere is a $10/person range fee that is payable on the day of the event. \nAdditional Range Information\nFree camping will be available at the range on Saturday night. Participants will have access to the club house for restrooms and limited kitchen support for dinner on Saturday night.

Any safe semi-automatic carbine can be used (Mini-14\, AK-47\, Tavor\, etc.). \nRequired Equipment: Please review our suggestions on appropriate Rifle 223 equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\nat least two (2) magazines for your carbine (more is better)\nsling for your rifle (a 2-point adjustable sling is recommended although a 1-point sling will work fine if that is your preference; the US GI sling is probably not ideal for this event)\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nlunch (we won’t be leaving the range)\nsnacks\n\nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\ncase for your rifle\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nknee/elbow pads (we may shoot from kneeling and other positions)\nfolding chair\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nTopics of instruction will include the following: \n\nRules for safe gun handling & range rules\nCarbine parts and operation & ammunition\nShooting Fundamentals\n\nFiring Stance: Standing\nFive steps to firing each shot\nZero rifles as required\n\n\nSituational Awareness and Scanning\nRapid Magazine Changes (Tactical Reloads)\nShort Range Marksmanship Techniques\n\nTailoring the five steps to firing each shot to the close quarters environment\nControlled Pairs\nRecoil Management\n\n\nClearing Malfunctions/Stoppages\n\nEmergency/Speed Reloads\nFailure to Fire\nFailure to Eject\nDouble Feed\n\n\nSpecial Subjects (most one-day clinics will cover only a few of these — two day clinics will cover most or all)\n\nZeroing Carbines & Rifles\nCarbine Trajectory and Zero Issues\nBarricades\nMovement\nKneeling Position\nProne Position\nUse of the sling to support shooting stability\nNatural Point of Aim\nFiring from retention\nField Stripping & Cleaning the AR-15\n\n\nClassic WW2 Carbine Qualifier\nRevere’s Riders Carbine Skills Test\n\nThis class is moderately physically demanding. We will be on our feet much of the day\, moving between various positions on the range. We will be shooting from different positions throughout the day. \nPlease contact the event director if you intend to bring a different type of firearm other than an AR-15 or similar carbine; we can probably accommodate learning on your preferred platform but want to ensure you will not be frustrated. \nThe Spirit of 1776\nPicking up where “The Midnight Ride” concludes\, the Spirit of 1776 traces the first full year of the American war for independence. \nThis exciting tale will be woven throughout the day’s marksmanship events. \n

SUMMARY:Rifle 262 (Field Rifle) – Two Day (Marion\, OH)
DESCRIPTION:Rifle 262 (Field Rifle) Overview\nPrerequisites: Suggested — Rifle 125 or previous experience with CMP\, High Power or NRA disciplines. \nIf you cannot consistently hit a 5″ circle at 100 yards from the prone position\, or if you are unfamiliar with the standing/seated/prone positions and GI sling usage\, you will be frustrated at Rifle 262. Material from Basic Rifle will be only briefly reviewed. Rifle 223 (Carbine) is not required. \nEstimated Ammunition Required: Bring 150 to 200 rounds/day. It is important that all ammunition be of the same type (i.e. same bullet weight\, manufacturer\, etc) for this event. At the very least\, bore sight your AR-platform or bolt rifle by pulling the bolt and aligning the sighting system with the bore at a mark 25 yards away.  If you are not zeroed\, we will make an attempt to get you there but a good zero will facilitate your learning. \nRequired Equipment: Please review our suggestions for appropriate Rifle 262 equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\nsling for your rifle (while a US GI sling will work perfectly well for this event\, many prefer a more easily adjustable sling)\nat least two magazines for your rifle\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\n\nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\ncase for your rifle\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nshooting mat\nhigh powered binoculars or spotting scope\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nOverview: Rifle 262 picks up where the introductory Rifle 125 clinic leaves off. Students\, having mastered the fundamentals of marksmanship\, learn to apply their skills out to the rifleman’s quarter-mile. Most importantly\, students will learn about their rifle — and themselves. \nField Rifle is focused on practical shooting under field conditions against targets at a variety of ranges\, with a focus on the “Rifleman’s quarter-mile:” 100-400 yards. This class is named for the “MK262” ammunition used by designated marksmen\, but you can be successful at landing hits with any ball ammunition and a standard rifle.

If you have concerns about the safety features of your pistol you should have it inspected by an armorer or gunsmith before class. \nRequired Equipment: Please review our suggestions for appropriate equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\ncase for your pistol\nat least two magazines for your pistol (additional magazines recommended if you have them)\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nclothing appropriate for the weather (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\nlunch (there are no restaurants sufficiently close to the range)\n\nWe will not be drawing from the holster in this class and we will run a “cold range.” You will not need a holster to participate in the class activities. \nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\nstapler (and extra staples) to attach your target to the backer board\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nLoaner Firearms: loaner firearms suitable for use at this event are generally available but limited.
