Details will be posted to the 2025 Marty Brown Memorial Open Indiana Rifle & Pistol Swag Bags\, Give Aways\, Prizes\, Auctions page as they are finalized. \nSign up for our email newsletter to be notified of items as we receive them. \nSWAG BAG AND GIVE AWAYS RULES: Only paid event participants are eligible for Swag Bags and Give Aways. Only ONE (“1”) Swag Bag and ONE (“1”) Give Away will be provided per event participant per weekend regardless of whether an event participant signs up for one or both days. \nRifle Overview (Saturday\, Sep 27)\nThis event will follow the outline of Basic Rifle\, our signature offering based on traditional American riflecraft that teaches “Hits Count!” This event is appropriate for a wide breadth of student skill levels and lays a sound foundation for students to shoot groups under time pressure from a variety of practical field positions. Instruction will include classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn: \n\nRules for safe gun handling & range rules\nRifle parts and operation & ammunition\nShooting fundamentals: Five steps to firing each shot\nNatural Point of Aim\nShooting from the prone\, standing and sitting/kneeling positions to include use of the sling\nIntroduction to Sight Adjustments and basic calculation of minutes of angle\n25 Yard “Morgan’s 13” Classifier\n25 Yard Rifle Qualifier\n\nRifle Prerequisites: None \nEstimated Rifle Ammunition Required: About 250 rounds rifle ammunition. \nRifle Requirements: You will need a safe rifle chambered in your preferred caliber. Magazine-fed semi-automatic rifles generally work best for our classes\, but any other type of rifle (tube-fed semi-automatic\, lever-action\, bolt-action\, etc.) can be used as well. Bring whatever rifle you have and we will work with you. \nRequired Rifle Equipment: Please review our suggestions for appropriate Basic Rifle equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\nat least two magazines for your rifle\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nclothing appropriate for the weather (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\n\nIt is helpful that all ammunition be of the same type (i.e. same weight\, manufacturer\, etc) for this event. Shooting will primarily be at 25 yards. At some facilities\, it may be possible to move out to longer distances\, but a rimfire rifle should be just fine for all activities. \nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\ncase for your rifle\nsling for your rifle (a US GI sling is preferred; loaner slings are typically available at the event)\nshooting mat\, carpet remnant or similar\nstapler (and extra staples) to attach your target to the backer board\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nPistol Overview (Sunday\, Sep 28)\nThis event will follow the outline of Basic Pistol\, our introductory pistol marksmanship course based on traditional American service pistol fundamentals. This course lays a sound foundation for students to shoot groups under time pressure from a practical stance. Basic Pistol includes classroom and range time learning to shoot handguns. Students learn: \n\nRules for safe gun handling & range rules\nPistol parts and operation & ammunition\nShooting fundamentals: Five steps to firing each shot\nTwo Handed Grip & Stance: Isoceles\, benchrest\, and low ready positions (Weaver may also be taught)\nNatural Point of Aim\nShot Group Analysis\nClearing Common Stoppages\nWhittemore’s Stand Pistol Qualifier\nClassic WW2 Pistol Qualification Test (optional)\n\nPistol Prerequisites: None \nEstimated Pistol Ammunition Required: About 200 rounds of pistol ammunition. \nPistol Requirements: You will need a safe pistol with at least five round capacity to fully participate in this course. Pistols should be of a modern\, drop safe design. \nOlder single action pistols manufactured before the 1980s and lacking a transfer bar safety are the most common type of pistol that lack drop safe design features\, as do some military surplus imports from Eastern bloc countries and Taurus PT-series pistols not fixed during an international safety recall in 2015. These pistols may discharge if dropped and pose a potential safety hazard to our volunteers and students\, and are not permitted. If you have concerns about the safety features of your pistol you should have it inspected by an armorer or gunsmith before class. \nRequired Pistol Equipment: Please review our suggestions for appropriate Basic Pistol equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\nat least two magazines for your pistol\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nclothing appropriate for the weather (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\n\nWe will not be drawing from the holster in this class and we will run a “cold range.” You will not need a holster to participate in the class activities. \nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\ncase for your pistol\nstapler (and extra staples) to attach your target to the backer board\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nfolding chair\nlunch\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nLoaner Firearms: loaner firearms suitable for use at this event are generally available but limited. Please contact the Event Director prior to the event if you would like to request a loaner firearm. \nThe Midnight Ride of Paul Revere\nHear the true story of Paul Revere’s famous ride and learn about the events that immediately precipitated the Revolutionary War. Paul Revere did not ride alone – many individuals played crucial roles in the events of April 19th\, 1775. \nThis history presentation begins with alarm riders warning “the Regulars are out!” You’ll hear about the dramatic stand on Lexington Green and the “shots heard ’round the world” at Concord’s North Bridge. The tale concludes with harrowing life-or-death choices made along the 17 mile “battle road.” \nThis exciting tale will be woven throughout the day’s marksmanship events. \nAdditional Event Information\nSpectators are welcome but will be asked to remain a safe distance from the firing line (ear protection is required for all spectators; eye protection is optional). \nYour ticket price includes range fees and lunch. \nEvent Sponsors\n\n\n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Crossbreed Holsters\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Criterion Barrels\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Magpul\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n XS Sights\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Eva-Dry\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Rock River Arms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Faxon Firearms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Premier Arms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n IWI\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Strikeman\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Caldwell\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Lockdown\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n HIVIZ Shooting Systems\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n CRKT\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n A&A Optics\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Timney Triggers\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Wilson Combat\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Samson Manufacturing\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n ATI Outdoors\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n OLFA Works\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n SCCY\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n ProMag/Archangel\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Mantis\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Smith & Wesson\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Timber Creek Outdoors\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Stag Arms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n D&E Printing

Anyone arriving later than this will not be allowed to participate in the event and your event fees will not be refunded. This is due to the need to meet at Range Control and proceed to the range as a group. We will not wait for you; plan to be early. \nBase Firearms Policy \nCAJMTC firearms policy—NO LOADED FIREARMS PERMITTED ON BASE. Concealed carry is NOT ALLOWED on base; you may only load a firearm while on a designated range. Before you proceed to to the base entrance and attempt to pass through security\, make sure that all firearms in your vehicle and on your person (don’t forget your concealed carry sidearm) are unloaded\, in a secure case and separated from your ammunition. This is generally Indiana state law (see IC 35-47-2-1). If you are refused entry to the base for any reason\, your event fees will not be refunded. \nDirections to Range Control \nYou will be required to pass through the Camp Atterbury main gate to access the military side of the base. When asked\, tell gate security that you are there for the Revere’s Riders event along with any other information gate security requests. IMPORTANT—do NOT attempt to go to the range on your own. There are numerous ranges at Camp Atterbury and any number of them can be “hot” at any given time. There are ranges for pistols\, rifles\, artillery as well as strafing (witnessing an A-10 Warthog engaging in a strafing run is awe inspiring from a distance); some of the ranges involve firing over roadways (if the range is “hot”\, these should be blockaded\, but better safe than sorry). Wandering onto any of these ranges while they are “hot” could lead to a VERY bad day. Range Control is reached by continuing south on the entrance road (Eggleston Street). Range Control will be on your left just before County Road 900 South. Himsel Airfield will be on your right just beyond the intersection of Eggleston Street and CR 900 S. \nOvernight Accommodations\nCivilian lodging is available on base for those who wish to stay overnight. Standard rooms with shared bathroom are $43/night and Deluxe rooms with private bath are $58/night. For reservations\, call the Camp Atterbury Lodging Office at 812-526-1128. This course lays a sound foundation for students to shoot groups under time pressure from a practical stance. Pistol 100 includes classroom and range time learning to shoot handguns. Students learn: \n\nRules for safe gun handling & range rules\nPistol parts and operation & ammunition\nShooting fundamentals: Five steps to firing each shot\nTwo Handed Grip & Stance: Isoceles\, benchrest\, and low ready positions (Weaver may also be taught)\nNatural Point of Aim\nShot Group Analysis\nClearing Common Stoppages\nWhittemore’s Stand Pistol Qualifier\nClassic WW2 Pistol Qualification Test (optional)\n\nPrerequisites: None \nEstimated Ammunition Required: About 200 rounds of pistol ammunition. \nRequired Equipment: Please review our suggestions for appropriate Pistol 100 equipment and plan to bring the following: \n\nat least two magazines for your pistol\na way to take notes\nhearing protection\neye protection\nplenty of your preferred method of hydration (both plain water and something to replace electrolytes you will lose via sweating is ideal)\nclothing appropriate for the weather (loose fitting clothing\, especially around the neck\, is discouraged as hot brass can lodge against the skin and cause a burn)\n\nWe will not be drawing from the holster in this class and we will run a “cold range.” You will not need a holster to participate in the class activities. Absolutely no refunds will be given for any other reason. \nAdditional Range Information\nArrival Time \nYou MUST Arrive On Time\nPlan to arrive NO LATER than 7:45AM. Standard rooms with shared bathroom are $33/night and Deluxe rooms with private bath are $38/night. For reservations\, call the Camp Atterbury Lodging Office at 812-526-1128. Let them know that you are with Revere’s Riders. \nEvent Sponsors\n\n\n \n  \n\n3M Peltor has graciously provided Revere’s Riders with Peltor LiteCom Plus communications headsets for use at this event. These headsets incorporate radios allowing wearers to communicate with each other via their headsets. Extremely convenient for ranges where the target line is manned like Camp Atterbury. \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nCentral Indiana High Power Rifle Shooters (CIHRPS) will be assisting Revere’s Riders in running the Marty Brown Memorial Invitational rifle match. CIHPRS holds several rifle matches each month at Camp Atterbury including NRA Highpower\, F-class\, etc. If you have an interest in long-range rifle competition (out to 1\,200 yards)\, then CIHPRS is your club. \n\n\n\n\n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Timber Creek Outdoors\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n ProMag/Archangel\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Eley Ammunition\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Crimson Trace\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Streamlight\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Precision Reflex\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Timney Triggers\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Crossbreed Holsters\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Strikeman\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Voodoo Tactical\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n CVA\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Briley\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Ontario Knife Co\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Pantheon Arms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Palmetto State Armory\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Samson Manufacturing\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Pioneer Arms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Meprolight\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Mantis\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Vortex Optics\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n XS Sights\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Magpul\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Ruger\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Premier Arms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Kestrel Meters\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n A&A Optics\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n LWRC International\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Schmid Inside\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n 3M/Peltor\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n D&E Printing\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n HIVIZ Shooting Systems

SUMMARY:Marty Brown Memorial Open Round #2 - One Day Pistol (Zionsville\, IN)
DESCRIPTION:A huge “Thank You” to Revere’s Rider’s for sponsoring the Marty Brown Memorial fundraiser to support Ovarian Cancer! I had limited rifle and scope experience coming into this class and I was very nervous shooting with people that had more experience. The training that I received in this class was just what I needed. The instructors were great and very patient. They answered all of my questions and encouraged me to try some things that I had not done before. I even won a Challenge Shoot! I would recommend this class to any experience level and especially to women. You won’t regret taking it and you will be helping out a wonderful cause! Mary\, 2022 Marty Brown Memorial Open Round #1 Attendee\nMarty Brown Memorial Open Overview\nThe Marty Brown Memorial Open™ event honors Marty Brown\, an instructor with Revere’s Riders who lost a 40-month battle with ovarian cancer in 2017.  You can read more about Marty as well as Ovar’coming Together on the Marty Brown Memorial™ page of our website. \n50% of ticket revenue (after deduction of range fees and lunch costs) will be donated to Ovar’coming Together to assist in their programs to support women diagnosed with ovarian cancer as well as funding ovarian cancer research. If you would like to make an additional donation\, please visit the Donation page on the Ovar’coming Together website. \nSwag Bags\, Give Aways\, Prizes\, Auctions\nWe are just beginning our solicitation for products that will be available as part of swag bags\, give aways\, prizes and silent auction. Details will be posted to the 2023 Marty Brown Memorial Open Round #2 Swag Bags\, Give Aways\, Prizes\, Auctions page as they are finalized. \nSign up for our email newsletter using the form in the website footer to be notified of items as we receive them. \nEvent Overview\nThis event will follow the outline of Pistol 100\, our introductory pistol marksmanship course based on traditional American service pistol fundamentals. This course lays a sound foundation for students to shoot groups under time pressure from a practical stance. Pistol 100 includes classroom and range time learning to shoot handguns. Students learn: \n\nRules for safe gun handling & range rules\nPistol parts and operation & ammunition\nShooting fundamentals: Five steps to firing each shot\nTwo Handed Grip & Stance: Isoceles\, benchrest\, and low ready positions (Weaver may also be taught)\nNatural Point of Aim\nShot Group Analysis\nClearing Common Stoppages\nWhittemore’s Stand Pistol Qualifier\n\nPrerequisites: None \nEstimated Ammunition Required: About 200 rounds of pistol ammunition. \nAdditional Range Information\nYour ticket price includes all range fees along with lunch. \nEvent Sponsors\nWe would like to thank the following event sponsors for their generosity in helping to make this event possible. \n\n\n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n KelTec\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Wheeler Tools\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Gun Storage Solutions\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n ProMag/Archangel\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Diamondback Firearms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Samson Manufacturing\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Crimson Trace\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Crossbreed Holsters\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Premier Arms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Voodoo Tactical\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n XS Sights\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Briley\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Ontario Knife Co\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Michael Z. Wandering onto any of these ranges while they are “hot” could lead to a VERY bad day. \nRange Control can be reached by either of two routes: \n\nRED highlighted route — continue south on Schoolhouse Road until you reach the four-way stop at County Line Road; turn left on County Line Road and proceed to the four-way stop at Eggleston Street; Range Control will be on the north-east corner of Eggleston and County Line Road\nBLUE highlighted route — turn left at the first four-way stop onto Headquarters Road; proceed to the four-way stop at Eggleston Street and turn right; Range Control will be on your left just before you reach County Line Road\n\n \nOvernight Accommodations\nCivilian lodging is available on base for those who wish to stay overnight. Standard rooms with shared bathroom are $38/night and Deluxe rooms with private bath are $53/night.

Details will be posted to the 2022 Marty Brown Memorial Open Round #2 Swag Bags\, Give Aways\, Prizes\, Auctions page as they are finalized. Students learn: \n\nRules for safe gun handling & range rules\nPistol parts and operation & ammunition\nShooting fundamentals: Five steps to firing each shot\nTwo Handed Grip & Stance: Isoceles\, benchrest\, and low ready positions (Weaver may also be taught)\nNatural Point of Aim\nShot Group Analysis\nClearing Common Stoppages\nWhittemore’s Stand Pistol Qualifier\nClassic WW2 Pistol Qualification Test (optional)\n\nPrerequisites: None \nEstimated Ammunition Required: About 200 rounds of pistol ammunition. \nOptional Equipment: The following equipment is not required but may come in handy at the event: \n\ncase for your pistol\nstapler (and extra staples) to attach your target to the backer board\nhat with a brim (to deflect flying hot brass)\nfolding chair\nlunch (included with your ticket price\, but you may want to bring your own if you have special dietary needs)\nsnacks\nsunscreen and/or bug spray\n\nLoaner Firearms: loaner firearms suitable for use at this event are generally available but limited. \nYour ticket price includes all range fees and lunch. \nEvent Sponsors\nWe would like to thank the following event sponsors for their generosity in helping to make this event possible. \n\n\n\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Henry Repeating Arms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n IWI\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Palmetto State Armory\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Glock\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Schmid Inside\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Premier Arms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Stratus Support Systems\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Stratus Armament\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Wilson Combat\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n XS Sights\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Crossbreed Holsters\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Timney Triggers\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n SCCY\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Kitanica\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n A&A Optics\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Ontario Knife Co\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Warrior Poet Society Network\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Galco Holsters\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Magpul\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n D&E Printing\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Gun Storage Solutions\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Voodoo Tactical\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Swift Bullet Co\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Stag Arms\n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n\n Tech-Sights

At present (July 2020)\, this includes the following: \n\nwearing a mask when indoors (masks will not be required outdoors)\nsubmitting to a screening questionnaire before being allowed on base\n\nWe will provide updated information regarding the US Army and Camp Atterbury policies regarding COVID-19 closer to the time of the event. \nCamp Atterbury and Afghan Refugees\nAs you may be aware from recent news coverage\, Camp Atterbury is now hosting several thousand Afghan refugees on base. This has dictated several changes to base policy including the following: \n\ncivilian on-base housing will NOT be available (it is being used to house additional military support personnel)\non-base driving routes are restricted (see cantonment map below for details)\nspeed limits will be subject to greater enforcement due to the presence of Afghan refugees (including children) not familiar with western style vehicular traffic:\n\n25mph maximum speed limit\n10mph speed limit when pedestrians are present\n\n\nphotography in the cantonment area is strictly prohibited; our understanding is that photography is still allowed on the firing ranges\n\nThe bottom line is that Camp Atterbury is much more of a “military base” than it was in the past due to the presence of the Afghan refugees. Please be aware of the above rules\, attempt to follow them to the best of your ability\, and be respectful to all persons on-base. \nAdditional Event Information\nTicket price includes all range fees. \nPre-registration is Required\nAll participants must purchase tickets by the DEADLINE of 5:00 PM on October 29\, 2021.  Absolutely no registrations will be allowed after this deadline. The unique venue for this event requires that we share your name and other personal information you submit to Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center (CAJMTC)\, Military Police and the Range Control office. Your information will not be used in any manner other than to allow your admittance to the installation and to contact you regarding this event. Pre-registration is required so that we can forward your information to CAJMTC in time for the event. You are also responsible for reading the below additional range information specific to Camp Atterbury. Please keep in mind that we are using a military facility and military rules and discipline are in force. \nRefund Policy\nEvent will be held RAIN or SHINE!\nCamp Atterbury is an active military installation\, as such we may have our scheduled access removed as late as the day before the event. Refunds will only be issued for this event due to cancellation of the event by military authorities. Absolutely no refunds will be given for any other reason. \nAdditional Range Information\nArrival Time \nYou MUST Arrive On Time\nPlan to arrive NO LATER than 7:45AM. \nIt is recommended that you do NOT inform base security that you have firearms in your vehicle unless specifically asked. It is also recommended that you wait until you are physically on the firing range to load your magazines to avoid any appearance of being “loaded and ready for action” while on-base. \nDirections to Range Control \nYou will be required to pass through the Camp Atterbury “delivery gate” to access the military side of the base (major construction is under way at the “main gate”). The “delivery gate” is at Schoolhouse Road to the west of the “main gate” and there is signage on Hospital Road to that effect. \nBase security is now being manned by US Army MPs and they should be treated with the utmost respect. Answer truthfully any questions you are asked; provide any and all identification or paperwork requested (make sure you have your drivers license and proof of insurance with you). \nWhen asked\, tell gate security that you are going to “Range Control”. \nThere are two acceptable routes to Range Control indicated in blue and red on the map below: \n \nThese routes avoid the cantonment areas where the Afghan refugees are housed. \nOvernight Accommodations\nCivilian on-base lodging is NOT available at this time. Edinburgh has several hotels/motels nearby should you need lodging: \n\nBest Western\nHoliday Inn Express\nHilton Garden Inn\nHampton Inn\nComfort Inn\nRed Roof Inn\n\nEvent Sponsors\n\n\n \n  \n\n3M Peltor has graciously provided Revere’s Riders with Peltor LiteCom Plus communications headsets for use at this event.
