Kevin is a United States Coast Guard veteran, where, in boot camp at age 18, he learned the magical use of the US GI Web Sling as a marksmanship aid and where he qualified as Expert in both rifle and pistol in 1976. He was an Aviation Electronics Technician, Petty Officer 2nd Class and a C-130 aircrewman stationed in Kodiak, Alaska. He went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Millersville University with a BS in Education in 1987 and attended graduate school at Bowling Green State University. He is currently employed as a RESNA certified Assistive Technology Professional and is a CAD/CNC artist and Maker.
He has been an avid archery deer hunter for 27 years and at various times has been a private pilot, SCUBA diver, EMT, hunter education instructor, retriever trainer, movie actor, and professional model. He enjoys backpacking in Kentucky’s Daniel Boone National Forest and is an avid Rucker and “Run ‘n Gun” biathlon competitor. He is a long-time competitor and frequent medal winner in the Bluegrass State Games smallbore and high-power rifle competitions.
Kevin holds NRA Instructor certifications in Rifle, Pistol and Range Safety Officer (RSO) and has been teaching the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship to groups in Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio since 2011. He holds the following Revere’s Riders Instructor certifications: Basic Rifle (Master), Field Rifle (Master), Pistol (Certified), Carbine (Certified), Storyteller (Master), and Event Director (Master).
Married for over 34 years, Kevin resides in Lexington, Kentucky with his wife Ruth and has four grown children and two grandchildren.
